Testings of the Egurra Bikes frames
We reproduce the loads a bicycle faces by performing 5 types of trials to the frame.
Fatigue trial: Vertical forces. Vertical dynamic force cycles of 1000 Newton are applied in a spot located 70 mm behind the axis of the stem during 100.000 cycles.
Fatigue trial: Pedaling forces. Each pedal axis is submitted to a repeated force of 1000 Newton during 100.000 cycles.
Fatigue trial: Horizontal forces. 450 Newton dynamic force cycles are applied forward and of 450 Newton backward in the front fork tips during 100.000 cycles.
Finally the impact trials: Drop of one dough and drop of the frame.
UNE IN ISO 4210-6. This international regulation has been developed to guarantee that the bicycles produced in accordance with this international regulation are as safe as possible. The trials have been conceived to guarantee the resistance and the durability of the different components and of the bicycle as a whole, requiring a high quality to all levels and taking into account the aspects related to the security from the design stage.
The frame is the main part of a bicycle, and the most important. The soul. The geometry, the size, the materials… will determine the use and the behavior that this will have.

In Egurra Bikes the quality standard is the excellence. Each frame that comes out from the Egurra Bikes workshop has hundreds of hours of work invested, only this way we can obtain the most sublime refinements.
From the moment of selecting the wood we think about who is our work aimed at and we try to please the client with each fiber and grain of the final product. This makes each frame special, unique and unrepeatable.
A unique experience that begins with the production process and finishes in the moment you ride your bicycle for the first time.
It is very important selecting the wooden planks well, the fibers that are searched are as straight as possible and free of knots so that the resistance of the frame is not compromised. It is also very important laminating the wood in different layers, what gives a higher resistance to the different components that conforms the frame. In fact, without these layers it would be impossible to certify any frame, since the resistance of one part of wood with another one of the same kind and size is never the same. With the lamination these differences disappear and components of high resistance and flexing are obtained.
Different types of Epoxi resins are used, special for wooden lamination (that provides bending and structural resins (that provide a great resistance in the most critical spots of the bicycle). Each frame is comprised of 57 wooden pieces. All the steps and processes required for the production of an Egurra Bikes frame are artisan, from the shaping of the different components that conforms a frame to the finishing and polishing of them. The different designs that the grains and colors of the different woods provide, are the ones that give place to the client to create its exclusive bicycle. Both the adhesives used as varnishes for the finishing are of the latest generation.
